Hey Co!
Welcome to the new website - was really fun building this one.
As the title alludes, we'll be covering what product we're developing next.
The Short & Sweet
Trousers
Essence Zip Hoodies
A new Essence Tee colour
Why these?
Trousers - didn't initially want to design one but once the concept got fleshed out it was more exciting to continue. The silhouette is inspired by brutalist architecture, very form heavy with silhouette edges being maintained across panels. Small branded details were chosen to mimic workwear to tow the line between casual and considered. (No photos yet, onto the 3rd round of sampling now, will share them soon)
Essence Zip Hoodie - don't think I need to explain this one haha
New Essence Tee colour - not going to lie, this one's for me. Hope you guys like it too!
Why all minimal styles?
With the weight of expectation off my shoulders, I believed the greatest value I could give first is simplicity - being able to produce a set of solid, wearable styles. Something reliable yet tasteful. Which is what the Essence range is. The goal is to have a solid stable of Essence styles covering all contemporary silhouettes - then we do the crazy stuff. 😁
Also with the Essence range I plan to make them more affordable and also introduce bundles so you guys can get even more value out of it. I'll be pricing them so that the business will at least be able to reinvest into new styles and trying out new things (covering sampling costs, moulds etc.)
I'm so excited for these
Trackpants. Half zips. Sweatpants. Scarves. All in the pipeline.
I love winter styling and product ranges. So much texture. So much colour (depends on the brand). And so many, many options.
Edit: By the time these are developed it may be 2027. 😂 We'll see how we go
Sometimes I get so lost on what to share - I get overexcited it's like meeting a friend that you haven't seen in ages and you don't know where to start to catch them up on how you're doing. That's what writing blog entries in here feels like sometimes.
How's things?
Good! I had the realisation recently that I'm completely, hopelessly average. Not in a self-pitying way - but a more "oh, I'm actually really normal, and very, very human." - it feels easier to do things these days - less expectations, less self-judgement, more self-study and more freedom. Which is strange - you would think realising you're average would make you sad, but it's kind of exciting. I can be bad at things and that's normal. And the best part is I can slowly get better at whatever I choose to practice.
Once again thanks for reading. Hope you're doing well, more product updates soon!
P.S. Went for a walk with my partner last Sunday, we visited the Tadao Ando's MPavilion. Crazy how architecture and a large body of water can make you feel so different. I dream of having a pond or a body of water as a part of my future home. Picture attached!
With love,
